    Question:
I just had to have my 235e chainsaw serviced as the chain brake had locked up and would not function. I called Husqvarna and was told where to have the saw serviced, and not very politely either. I had to pay to have the saw fixed even though the saw is still under warranty. I have used the saw twice. It broke while I was using it to cut down a couple 6" dia trees and could not finish. I have to say I am less than impressed with the saw and the service/support I received. If I designed and manufactured products like this my customers would not stay my customers for long. How can I get reimbursed for the cost of the repair?

Thank you for contacting the AnswerARMY.

It is upsetting that you experienced this failure.

Something to keep in mind, if there was a defect in materials or workmanship then yes it should have been covered. If for example the cover was taken off with the chain brake engaged and it needed to be reset then that is not warranty and there would have been a minimal charge by the dealer. Please consult your dealer as to what was done to fix the unit. If a part was replaced this is most likely but not necessarily a defective part and your dealer can answer the reasons for that. If no parts were used this is likely just an error such as described above and that is not a defect.

Hope this helps to answer, please consult your dealer for the reason of the charge.

If determined to be warranty the dealer would have to file a warranty and refund the money if not warranty then the charges will most likely stand.
