    Question:
    Rattle noise in engine normal?

Ok, my story continues. As you may see, I have two other posts about a 150BT and a 350BT back back blower. To recap, the 150BT worked well for six months, then it developed an internal rattle noise in the engine, sounding like loose marbles. I did get worse and I did take it in, and it was replaced with a 350BT after almost 2 months. I am greatful that it was replaced and not repaired. Now, I just used the 350BT blower and it made a similar noise from the engine on the first use. I had my local Husky dealer mix my oil and gas to verify it is correct. Is this noise normal and to be expected? if so I am not going to worry about it and enjoy it. If it is not normal I'm going to be severly disappointed. My other Husky equipment does not make any rattle noises like the blower. Please advise me if there are similar concerns about this noise and put my mind at ease.

It is upsetting that you have had these concerns.

While the sound is not normal it is most commonly caused by a low octane fuel. I would ask that you try 91 or 93 octane fuel mixed with Husqvarna Low-Smoke oil. This has been noted before, while most of our equipment runs fine on 87 octane fuel the use of 91 or 93 is preferred in the "0" series of blowers. High octane fuel mixed with correct oils should cause the noises to subside. Most likely this is spark knock just like you might get in a high performance automobile when used with low octane fuel.
