    Question:
I have a Husqvarna 54 inch lawn tractor. This is the second season on the mower. Really only a season and a half. I have had to replace the blades twice already. They wear down very quickly and even split where the back edge of the blade turns up. I have owned Craftsman mowers in the past and have gotten at least 3 seasons out of a set of blades with regular sharpening. The Husqvarna blades are practically gone after three mowings. Is there a problem that you know of that could cause this? If you would like, I will take some pictures of the blades.

Thank you for contacting the AnswerARMY.

It is upsetting that you have had this experience.

I suspect you have the wrong blades for the application. These blades appear to have been sand blasted ( cut by sand and debris ), this is indicated by how clean they appear. I would suggest a different blade either the reverse list mulch blade or a low lift blade. that will not pull all the sand and dirt from the ground.

What I see is completely normal in an environment with a lot of sand and dirt in the yard. A low lift or mulch blade should help with this as it will not pick the sand up.
