This is likely just that, excess grease. When the unit is running the grease inside of it does become thinner due to heat and that grease is slung to the outside of the unit on account of centrifugal force. If there was excess grease present it could have worked it's way out of the head. Also, rest assured in the fact that this unit does carry a two year warranty from the date of purchase should this prove to be an issue. Simply maintain your proof of purchase should you need to take the unit to a dealer for any warranty work.
