    Question:
    Husqvarna Model 36 Chainsaw Bar/Chain Fit Up;

    I have a Husqvarna Model 36 saw, 16" bar. The Husqvarna cross reference table calls for a Model HL-258-66 Bar and a H38-66 chain. My saw came with a part no. 530044508 bar, which AFAIK translates to an HL-180-56 bar, and a oregon 91vg56/husq H36-56 chain (at least that is the replacement chain I have been using for years with no problems). As far as I can tell, the model called for in the cross reference table not only uses a different mount for the bar, but is a 66 link chain vs. a 56 link that is currently on my saw. Is there an error in the table, or does my saw have the wrong bar/chain? Thanks

    Hi John

    Thanks for contacting the Answer Army to post your questions.

    The Original 36 unit's came with the HL-258-66 and H38-66. It was later that the HL-180-56 Bar became standard with this Unit that is also known as a Husqvarna 136. I hope this information will be helpful.

    Thanks again from the Husqvarna Technical Services Team
