The problem may be something as simple as a bad tank vent that is creating a vacuum on the tank and stopping the fuel from flowing into the carb like it's supposed to. It could also be the loss of ground from excessive resistance caused by heat, or the wrong spark plug. If you can take the unit in to an authorized dealer to have it checked, I'm sure that they can find out what is wrong with the trimmer and have it resolved for you.
