    Question:
My question is about using the new Oregon Powersharp system on a husky saw. First, I'd like to say my old Husqvarna 55 saw is an amazingly tough product. Although not used commercially, I have felled trees for building my house, clear land, produce firewood and anything else you can think of including occasional use for my small construction projects. I have ran over it with my tractor, had trees fall on it and dropped it numerous time off my gator bed on the way to do some cutting. At about 15 years old it is still going strong but lately seems to leaking some oil as it sits in the garage.
    Details:

It seems at some poing my chains are all in need of being professionally sharpened. This is something I don't have the patience to do. The new Oregon Powersharp systems looks like it might over time save me a lot of money.   What I cant seem to find out is which Husqvarna chain saw this system works on. I would appreciate whether you think, first of all, if the system works as well as having your chains sharpened.  If so then what saws will it work on. Thanks you.

    Hi Ken,

Thank you for contacting Husqvarna. We do not have any saws or chains that run on that system. I've personally never run a saw that has it but I'm not a big fan of it as I don't think it would cut as good as a standard blade. The profile of the cutting tooth is very different than traditional saws. We do offer chain sharpening systems but they do have to be done by hand one tooth at a time. Either manually or with an electric sharpener. It doesn't take that long. Also chains are fairly cheap so you might just buy new ones. Hope this helps.
