Question:

I have a model 40 Husqvarna Chainsaw serial number 0510229. It was my grandfather's saw that I have had a few years since his passing. I just broke the recoil housing and I am looking for a replacement. I would like to know the manufacture date of this and if a replacement part is available. I ordered a model 41 recoil used online and it is not the same as my saw. Any help would be appreciated.

The model of your saw is 1990

The side cover is part number - 503 10 59-06

The Starter Pulley is part number - 537 20 19-01

The Recoil Spring is part number - 501 76 31-01

These parts will rebuild the starter recoil assembly on your saw.
