    Question:
    I was recently given a Husqvarna Chainsaw. It was a tool my grandfather loved for years. It's in great shape but I have a few questions:

    It is supposed to come with a tool - the tool looks like it has a spark plug and long screw drive piece on it. Where can I purchase it and how much is it?

    What do you recommend getting down the service side if I don't plan to use it until it gets warm out, about 60-90 days. How much should I pay for a tune up?

    What does a tune up mean for a chainsaw?

    The chainsaw is model number 359. What do these numbers mean on the saw: 3HVXS. 0595EA and then 59cc. There are other numbers by the serial number 967 04 17-00

    Any other suggestions on getting started? It's my first chainsaw.

    Thanks, I am excited about the chainsaw, though it is used, it looks to be in terrifc condition,

    Steve

    Steve,

    Congratulations, you have received a terrific chainsaw. This saw has tons of power and is a quality

    The tool you are asking about is called a Scrench. This is a screw driver for the chain adjustment, wrench for bar bolts and a wrench for the spark plug removal. The cost is about $10.00.

    The best way to store the unit is to drain the fuel and start the saw and let it idle until it dies, this removes the fuel from the system. Remove the spark plug, put a couple of drops of oil in the  cylinder, pull the starter rope a couple of times (easily) then reinstall the spark plug.

    A tune up for a chainsaw is usually checking the ignition system, new spark plug, fuel filter, air filter and carburetor adjustment. Cost can vary usually takes the shop about 1 hour of labor.

    The numbers on the saw mean:

    359 = 3 series of the 59cc saw

    The #HVXS.059EA is the engine information when manufactured.

    Suggestions on first time use? Check the bar, chain and drive sprocket. Make sure they are in good shape. Always use proper safety equipment and check out the videos on our website on the proper usage of chainsaws. www.husqvarna.com/us
