Question:
I heard that I should run my chainsaw dry, meaning let it run until it runs out of gas because if I don't it will damage the carborator. This doesn't make any sense to me. Is that true? If so, what is the reason?

Hi Steve
If the unit is to be used every few days, draining the fuel is not required.
However, as the ethanol in today's gasoline will attract moisture from the air, that condition can be harmful the the fuel lines and the carburetor components.
For long-term storage of the unit, the tank should be emptied and the unit started and run until all of the fuel in the fuel lines and carburetor has been exhausted.
We also recommend not storing fuel for more that 30 days due to that same problem.
