    Question:
I bought a well-used 150BF through eBay and it worked perfectly all through the fall season until recently. All of a sudden, if I want it to run without cutting out, I have to keep the choke lever closed almost all the way. Seems like it is just not getting enough fuel. I have tried leaving the tank cap on loose, replaced the fuel filter and fuel line, checked the spark plug condition (seemed wet)and gap. I am using 10% ethanol fuel and a universal 50:1 to 16:1 oil.
Is this a common malfunction for the model and what are the fixes?

    Jerry,

Thanks for contacting Husqvarna to post your questions.

Did you store the fuel in the unit? This sounds like a fuel supply problem. First thing to try, purchase a fuel additive called "Start Your Engines" available through Wal-Mart. Mix this additive HEAVY with your fuel. Try to run the unit and flush the fuel lines / carburetor. The unit should start to improve over a tank of fuel. If not, the carburetor may need to be repaired or replaced.

For future use of the machine, always use a Premium fuel and / or a Pre-mix fuel.

Ethanol is the destroyer of all 2 cycle engines. Proper oil is also very important. We recommend either the Husqvarna Silver or Husqvarna XP oil.
