Due to product updates that have been implemented within the past several years all issues with frames breaking have since been resolved, and these units have been performing with a very high degree of success and a very low failure rate. Issues with frame breaking were not caused by the frame being of too thin a material however this was on account of excessive play at the transmission not being torqued to spec.
On account of safety considerations we never recommend using any tractor on slopes greater than 15 degrees. There are three transmission options on these units, the Tufftorq k46 being the lightest, the hydro G7 series tractor being the heaviest, and the Tufftorq K66 being a middle ground though. All transmissions on LS series tractors come equipped with a locking differential though, this locks only when one tire begins to slip, offering improved traction, in slick conditions, hills, or when under heavy load, but not at the sacrifice of turning ability.

I would still like to know the frame thicknesses so i can compare them to other brands. I understand the safety factor with the greater than 15 degree hills considering that i've actually rolled my kabotta. lol. but any ways i'm also confused on the rear ends. the web sight says only three of the ls tractors have the locking rearend. The one i'm interested the most is the YTH22V42LS. How do i know what rearend it has, all it says in specifications is tuff torque. almost everything i've been looking at says that. I just want to know what i'm buying.
On a completely different issue. I used the dealer locater and went to three today and none of them actually carry mowers. Just parts. The first one i went to said i didn't want a husqvarna and tried to sell me a toro. I don't want a toro, but still that can't be good for business. It was the #1 dealership for me, which is based on location, but still. They were actually kinda rude. Said they've had nothing but problems with husqvarna. I'm still not convinced because I like the price of the LS tractors with the fabricated deck and heavier built frame. I just want a few specific details on the tractors, and well, i guess i need to know where i can look at one and buy one. Just incase it matters, i'm in sapulpa ok, close to tulsa ok.
