    Question:
The Operator's Manual for my 345Fx clearing saw says "The drive shaft must be greased every three months during full-time use Contact your dealer if you are uncertain about the procedure." Thanks a lot, Husqvarna!

I loosened the bolts nearest the engine and could not get, without forcing, the shaft housing loose. Next I removed the cutting head and could not remove the shaft from there (I did find a figure for another model showing a nut at the top of the shaft, if this is the same, that would be why I could not pull it out from below).

What is my next step? Am I doing something dumb, or do I just work harder to get the shaft housing away from the engine/gas tank?

    Quentin,

    Thanks for your question.

It appears as though the manual for your unit could potentially contain erroneous information that more than likely was simply never updated from an older manual.  The shaft on this does not require any grease or regular maintenance as it is sealed to prevent material from entering it or exiting.

Thanks again from the Husqvarna team.
