    Question:
I have a brand new Husqvarna Chainsaw Model 450e. In the owners manual it states
"The clutch drum has a needle bearing on the output shaft. This needle bearing must be lubricated regularly."
"When lubricating, remove the clutch cover. Lay the saw on it's side with the clutch drum upwards."
"Lubrication involves engine oil dripping into the centre of the clutch drum as it rotates"
My question is what type of oil? Two stroke oil? Auto motive oil? 5w30? 10w30? Machine oil?
    How much oil?
Also is it pre oiled at the factory? Should I add oil now before even using it?
    Thank You

Welcome to the Husqvarna Answer Army post.

An automotive oil will be fine for this application. You can use any weight but we would recommend to use the weight that would be used in your car. Example if you live in the cold climate of the Northeast I would go with a 5W30 if your in South Florida or somewhere hot you can go with SAE 30 or something of a lighter weight. The units are oiled at the factory and the bar and chain oil will help as well. As to how often, that is up to how often you use the saw. If you use it daily I would recommend at least once or twice a week. If it is just occasional use then at least once a month or so.

I hope this helps answer your question.
