Those fuel lines can be tough to get back in but they have to fit tight to keep from leaking. A small screwdriver and patience is what it takes. To change the fuel filter a coat hanger bent into a hook works well. You reach in thru the fill neck and fish the filter out. Then hold it with needle nose pliers and remove and replace with new one.
