    Question:
I just bought and older husky chainsaw the other day at an auction and doesn't seem to have a model number anywhere? There is nothing on the flywheel or a silver tag above the oil cap, however ther is sticker on the front part of cover thats says about the chain and stuff for it?? Anywhere on the saw can I find a seriel number to find out what model it is??

Depending on the chainsaw model, the model number is normally located on the side of the saw and there is a metal plate containing the serial number in one of the four locations pictured below.

Model and Serial Number  Model and Serial Number  Model and Serial Number  Model and Serial Number

Note: There are two numbers. The top number is the part number and the number that is directly below it is the serial number. Husqvarna Chainsaw Models 136 and 141 contain only the serial number on the plate.

       Hi Danny,

There should be a tag on the saw. It's possible the tag was removed. You should at least see where the tag was orginally. As these are riveted on the saws. You could try getting it into your local Husqvarna dealer they might be able to help you ID it. Hope this helps.

      Regards,

Hi Danny, I agree with Chip. The tag may have been removed. The only places I have ever seen a tag on Husqvarna's are the four locations pictured. A lot of times the tag is covered in dried on oil/sawdust and can take some effort to clean off without damaging the numbers. Especially the one on the right side under the wrap handle.
