Question:
I have a brand spanking new 4613. The hour meter is not working. I called sundec and tested the meter and it is in working order. There is no current to the purple/violet wire. I see purple wires going to the ignition, PTO and other areas but I cannot determine (because of the harnesses) where the wire from the hour meter is supposed to be connected to a power source. I can rig my own wire but I would rather connect it where it us supposed to be. I cannot find any specific wiring diagrams/schematics for this engine.(very general)I bought the unit from Lowe's so they do not work on them. I used to build jet refuelers so I think I can do it properly without a problem. Can you help me?

Hello Mike,
Thank you for using Answer Army. You are correct that there should be a purple and black wire connected to the hour meter. A schematic drawing is located in your Owner's Manual on page 49. This will help show the routing of the wires and the wiring labels. Although, I trust that you have great experience, I must state to use caution and always wear your recommended safety equipment when working. Hi Mike,
Your hour meter only runs when the blades are engaged. We changed how they function to show only when work is being performed not just when the engine is running. If that doesn't resolve your issue, your machine is still covered under warranty and you would need to get it into your local servicing dealer.
