To pull the tank vent simply knock it out with a long slim screwdriver and when you re-install the new one you may need a drop of super glue to keep it in place. As for the ignition module without the proper equipment you can't test it. Before you go to replace it try removing it and lightly sand where it mounts to make sure its getting a good ground. Depending on how old the machine is the module may be covered under warranty, if it is more than 6 months old then you would be responsible for the labor only the part should be covered.
