    Question:
Purchased a 240 husqvarna chainsaw. The saw cuts and runs good. Only thing i notice is the throttle is smooth halfway through then it has a hard spot. If you squeeze a little more it moves. It feels like it gets in a bind but has been like this since new. Normal? Or linkage binding?

      Michael,

This problem is Not normal, the throttle control should be the same through the entire leverage of pulling the trigger. When it was new you probably should have taken it in for a warranty issue. I am guessing the problem is in the trigger, they are only plastic parts but it is possible that one of the pieces like the trigger or the actual part of the handle has an improperly moulded piece, and it takes extra pressure to overcome that moulded defect. The other possibility is that there is something wrong with the actual spiral spring located on the carburators' throttle control shaft, I don't think the linkage connecting the trigger to the throttle would have this kind of effect. In any case either the handle of the saw would need to be taken completely apart, or If its the carburator throttle spring then the carburator would need to be removed from the chain saw and worked on. In either case there is no easy fix, and I would recommend having an authorized Husqvarna repair center look at the saw and give you an assessment of what the problem could be. I hope this helps.

PS. They do make a kit, for the trigger mechanism at a cost of $5.99 but you would have to take the handle apart, see attached diagram
