Question:
I have a Husqvarna chainsaw model 44. It is an older model and I have been able to find a 20" chain but am not able to locate a bar so I can use the chain. I don't understand how the chain can be sold but not the bar. Is it possible to find a bar for the older models? The chainsaw still runs well and the bar and chain I have are both worn out. Thanks.
Answer
Diane,
There are plenty of good bar and chains available from several different Manufacturers for the Model 44.
Here is one made by "Oregon Chain" and should be available at most hardware stores, and big box stores.
I hope this helps, The Oregon part number is "18S62041".

Thank you very much. However when I go to Oregon Chain, using the link you provided, and enter in the information about my chainsaw, it comes back with "No bars were found". How have you determined the part number, 18S62041? Thanks. Diane

Diane,
Thanks for double checking me, and Don't use the number I sent you, You were correct!
My mouse clicking must have been too fast, and that was the bar for an 18" bar and I know you said you wanted a 20" bar.
Sorry for the error, sometimes I don't like mice, Lol.
PS. I will do some other searches for you, I know several suppliers and have some cross reference guides that I can use.

Diane,
Here is a distributor, and they have several Brands to search from, It looks like this Husqvarna one will fit your model 44. They also have a toll free number on there page, and are very helpful:

Again, sorry for the error on my previous post.
I hope this helps!

Karla, I see the compatibility information on the lower part of the webpage for the bar. This looks like it will work out.
Thanks for all your help!
