Question:
I bought a Husqvarna 128JDX weed trimmer last fall and did not use it much until about 2 weeks ago. It has been working fine until the head stopped turning a few days ago. I took it to our local dealer and he separated the shaft and put it back together. It worked at his shop and I brought it home and the head stopped turning again after about 10 minutes of use. I took it back to him today and it, again, worked after he took it apart and put it back together, but once home it stopped turning again after about 15 minutes. I feel very frustrated as I am very careful in using this trimmer. Can you help me with information that may remedy this problem? P

Answer
Could not find a 128JDX listed anywhere but did find a 128DJX.
This is my personal opinion only and not a Husqvarna opinion but it sounds like the dealer service personnel need to use the trimmer themselves in a good real life test run. If the current dealer can't fix the problem I would suggest trying another shop. Not all shop are the same when it comes to the quality of the service rendered.
Without putting my hands on it myself it is only a guess but it sounds like bearing problem or other problem in the gearbox. It could be further up the shaft and that can be determined by changing the lower section out with another one. It won't be that hard to fix; just time consuming.
I do not represent Husqvarna; I am just a small engine repair shop owner.
