    Question:
My husband purchased a Husqvarna chainsaw last August from Lowes . We haven't even finished paying for it yet and it is done . The motor went and when he took it to a service dealer , they said it was toast and NOT covered by warranty . He used it to cut a tree up we had to have taken down in our yard . Why else do you buy a chainsaw if not to cut wood ? They said it was excessive use and was not covered ??? How can you NOT stand by a product that wasn't even a year old yet ? We paid 385.00 for this chainsaw and bought your product because he said it was the best . However I don't feel this way . We still have some of the tree left in our yard and no chainsaw to finish the work . We haven't paid for it completely yet ...... I am so not satified ...... And will not recommend this product to anyone in the future ...... This is just not right ... Debra Donaberger Aston Pa

Thank you for contacting the AnswerARMY.

There are many reasons for the engine to be ruined and most common is lack or improper lubrication in the fuel system.

Improper lubrication and stale fuel leave tale tale signs, Please ask the servicing dealer why it is not warranty.

We do warrant our products to be free of defects in materials and workmanship for specified periods based on when it was purchased and how it is used.

The saw could have been ruined the first few minutes it was run, if it did not have the correct fuel mixture.

Again please contact your servicing dealer and asked for an explanation of why it is not warranty.

My husband is very careful with his tools . I just think it is crazy to have a saw he used only a couple of times , already be ruined. The tree was large and this saw was the largest saw for home use you could buy at Lowes . We now how more tree to cut and no saw to do it with . We have other cheaper brand saws that weren't big enough for this tree and have had them for 33 years . I will not recommend this product at all . The servicing dealer said it was excessive use ?  Very dissapointed .....

Did you happen to purchase the service plan when you bought it at Lowes...? I know many of these "plans" are a waste of money but for $49 it covers everything including normal wear and tear (except bar and chain) for 2 years...or $79 for 4 years......Sorry about your situation....BUT, I would strongly agree with the thought of improper fuel mixture is the culpret...

+I am surprised by this review. I agree with the dealer, You have to make sure for proper lubrication of the engine cleanliness of the bar and proper chain lubrication. If you watched the videos, which are long but most useful! Do not force saw and do not let rpm down, or chain will catch. Used properly, these are the best chainsaws there is.

even if that saw was used burning straight fuel with no 2 cycle oil at all, (which it wasn't), it would easily cut up 1 tree without burning up and seizing. that saw had defective parts installed and must be replaced.  you have rights.  you need to consult a different Husqvarna dealer and you will get results.  if you get the same run around, then retain counsel and bring action.  Husqvarna and lowes will be liable for legal expense at the conclusion of this matter.  and I assure you that you will emerge victorious.

I am a professional chainsaw mechanic. I rebuild/repair all makes and models.  if your husband really only used the saw on one single tree, then there was something very wrong with that unit when it was shipped.

do not give up on this matter.  I feel very upset by this posting and want a good outcome.  nothing will get done if you give up this fight.  right has might.  you get em bulldog...

I noticed this posting was 20 july 2011.

what was the outcome disposition of the saw.  did Husqvarna replace it? was the matter pursued further?
