    Question:
How do I get a repair book for the wheeled weedtrimmer? Unfortunately I did not know that the driving cable was not covered under the warranty as informed by the Lowe's warranty department. I called them about this as I could not find my warranty when this issue developed. If I had been able to fix this myself I certainly would have and saved myself probably $100. I was informed when I called Husqvarna that only certified dealers have that. This then forces the consumer to have to have it repaired at a dealer or risk fixing it themselves incorrectly. Certainly if there had been instructions on how to fix the driving cable I would have done so. Something that is not covered under warranty should definitely have directions easily available to the consumer on how to fix it rather than have the consumer fleeced by a repair shop. A very disappointed consumer...

    Thank you for your time.

      Bobbie,

First I not associated with Husqvarna or any of their other divisions; I am an independent shop owner.

Books that specific to one type lawn care equipment are fairly rare as most repairs; although involved, these repairs are fairly straight forward. There are basic lawn and garden equipment repair guides out there that are for sell. For most home DIYers taking notes and pictures as you go is the best to go. You also got to get into the mindset that the worse thing I can do is to break it and have carry it to someone else for repair.

As an independent shop owner I have received equipment in where DIYers have tried and failed to repair problems. The simple ones I sometimes even show them where they went wrong especially those promising young technicians. I have also received one lawnmower in several boxes where the DIYer was trying to replace a steering sector gear when it was a simple clip that needed removing. This one I didn't show where he went wrong especially after he irately complained about me charging $50 to put his jigsaw puzzle back together that took the better part of a day for me to do.
