    Question:
Are other customers having transaxle problems with their YTH2454 lawn tractor?
    Details:

Mine is just barely two years old and while mowing a few weeks ago, the mower just stopped and upon investigation, the left rear wheel was falling off, due to a broken axle, just inside the wheel - what a strange place to break!

Now, my delima is, here I am - a month or so later - still waiting on the "Service Dealer" to get it on the rack and look at it!  Are all our our authorized dealers this bad - NO, I have had great dealings with a couple of them - because I was buying something!  But here we go with "Waranty" questions and it take forever to get the "factory rep" to do anything!

I can't even find a company contact at their web site.  Anyone have a good number or email address?

    Thanks,

    John

    John,

Hi and thanks for using the Answer Army to post your question.

I am sorry for the inconveniences you have encountered with your machine, and not to make excuses for the service center but this time of the year most of the landscaping companies are getting ready for the change over from Summer to Fall.  They are taking their machines in to have yearly service work done to prepare for the Fall.  You can find another service center by going to our website and clicking on the dealer locator to find other that may be able to get your machine repaired quickly.

I have checked our entire system and there are not any recalls or service bullitens on your machine. If there is a problem with a particular unit we will issue a service bulletin to everyone who has registered their product with us as well as any dealers and national accounts that sell the product.

Also to get in touch with us here at the corporate office you can either email us by going through our website and click on the Husqvarna Group link then click on the contact us link, or our phone number is 1-800-487-5951 which is also listed on the website. http://corporate.husqvarna.com/?p=contact&afw_lang=en

I hope this helps and thanks again for using the Answer Army.

if there are so FEW breaking then why dont you do a good will repair and fix them under warranty  since it would be a good will gesture on your part and not cost you very much money since so FEW are breaking (less then 50 per year i think i read) but as a consumer it is a big expense to have to pay nearly half the cost  that you paid for your tractor to have it repaired

I have an LGT2654, just suffered same failure, Transaxle Right rear axle shaft shear off.   I am reading a lot of posts with this problem.   My tractor has not been abused or mishandled.   I have been using garden tractors for over 45 years and never seen a failure like this on my other equipment:  Toro, Jacobsen, Cub Cadet, Snapper, Sears, etc.

This is pretty clearly a latent defect from the transaxle supplier.   The axle break pattern is pretty clear as to what is happening.   Pretty disappointing.
