    Question:
I bought a 924HV a couple of years ago. the second season I had it the nut that holds the impeller pulley to the shaft vibrated loose and fell off. I replaced it and made it through another season and the first snowfall of this season the same thing happened. Is this a common problem? It is not a locking nut. Can I do something to make it stay on?

Upon researching the nut you referred to I found that Husqvarna has changed the part number to a locking flange nut (532409149). The thread size is 3/8 - 16.

The version that Husqvarna is providing may also be under cut on washer side for more clearance of the hex drive. I have seen this on other flange nuts that are used on the mower spindles.

You can purchase an locking version at your local hardware store and I suggest depending on the amount of exposed thread using one that has nylon lock insert if you purchase locally. There is also a version that sold that the build-in washer is serrated to make a locking version. in addition you might apply some blue thread lock compound the threads.

Also check that pulley center hole for damage and if damage it may require replacing too.

I am just an independent repair shop owner and I do not represent Husqvarna.
