Question:
I bought a new Husqvarna 105275SB-LSb snow blower in 2009-2010 from a local dealer in town.I've had to replace the intermediate drive gear twice now.Part #532441417 kit.The first time was in 2011 and second time is now during the blizzard of 2013. My first question is why is this gear stripping(loosing teeth)and failing? The machine hasn't seen many large storms other than this storm. the blizzard of 2013 and in 2011 when we had a number of storms that season. We had nothing to speak of last season.
Is there a problem with this gear? Metal too soft? And last, why do I have to buy the kit when all I need is to replace the gear?
I'm a Husqvana fan and have owned a number of produts. I'm dissapointed with this one. This should'nt happen at all never mind twice.
I would appresiate your response to my questions. Thank You.

Answer
I had the same thing happen to me!!! Bought mine in Dec. '08 and used it 3 times and EVERY TIME the drive gear strips on me. Now they tell me since its past the 2 year warrenty they cant do anything about it. Its obvisously a design flaw!!! I might have to take legal action now.... $1377.95 for a machine I've used three times.....

Same problem model 14527E.
This thing retails for close to $2000. I called the company and they did not want to admit anything-and worse part is the drive switched to chain drive later for this model. And the "Kit" is $184.19 with shipping and handling.
My neighbors traded me this when they moved. I built them a new front porch and half was cash, the other half was the blower... they had used it maybe twice. When I called Husqvarnagonnaripyouoffa, they said "the warranty is not transferrable". Well the philosophy of "Warranty of Merchantability" says a thing needs to be able to do what it is designed to do if you sell it to the public. Total fail.
The motor has too much torque for the design of these gears. Imagine any transmission with cast metal? And this has to work hard digging in the snow, BUT the snow gives, the belts can give, the rubber drive wheel can give...but no what goes first is the gears the *** teeth snap off. (Well the "pinion gear" also just shattered...) May have to sell the thing after I fix it now. Total POS.
Contact me guys. They sold this through SEARS as well. Now I know why the Husqvarna place up the road went under.
