    Question:
A new 128LD trimmer. I have had numerous trimmers w/tap and go head. Can't get this new trimmer head to work. Have tried tapping on the ground w/o head spinning and w/head spinning w/o success. Nothing in the owner's manual as to technique. Am I missing something or is the head defective right out of the box?

I cut grass professionally for about 3 years.  I bought the Husqvarna split boom setup one year ago, with the naivety that all attachments would be readily available and customizable.  Wrong.  All the big box stores sell the split booms as a power head and trimmer attachment set only.  They will not part out, and literally 6 local big box stores do not stock the attachments.  I broke my trimmer attachment gearbox by trying to replace the garbage tap and go trimmer head.  The output shaft is pressed in.  It doesn't come out (without snapping).  I have decided to scrap or sell my Husqvarna and go back to another company that allows customization of the trimmer head.  Husqvarna really needs to rethink the availability and customization of their trimmer heads.  The tap and go is and always will be a useless system.  It is totally un-reliable and reloading is irritating and time-consuming.  I used to cut grass professionally and found that ALL fixed line trimmer heads are the best solution.  Husqvarna, you are really missing the marking on this:  where the proverbial rubber meets the road, or in this case, where the trimmer head meets the weeds.
