    Question:
    I bought a new drive handle for my. 7021R. The drive had never worked on this most even after two trips to the dealer. I decided to look for the problem and found a knot in the tail of the drive cable. I am guessing that was an attempt by the dealer to "repair" the drive system. The new style drive cable does not fit anywhere like the old one did and I am unable to find anywhere else it would attach. I will add photos. Is there an actual direct repair that doesn't use the new and improved drive cable assembly?
    Details:
    issue is the way it attaches on the deck. There is no where to mount the new one and the tail is way shorter than the old one. The new one has a rectangular push in tab, the old one is more cylindrical. Please contact with me with any questions. Waylon

      Could you post your mower's product number.There are two versions of this mower out there. One use cable 532406258 and the other uses 532431655. The mower's product may show up with even different number as I have seen that before.

      I recently moved into a new area and re-open my shop. I can't believe some of the make shift repairs that are coming in here. The picture you posted is a good example some I have seen lately. It looks like someones solution for a worn drive belt or wrong length drive belt.

      Personally I do not approve of this type workmanship out any tech working for me but I am not the owner of that shop. I am independent shop owner and set my own standards on repair quality.

      9614300630 Yeah, it's already had two new belts and only has a dozen notes on it. I put one on and the repair shop or one on. I didn't check their work, but should have. Thanks for the help.

      Waylon, Your mower's ipl indicates it uses the 532431655 cable.

      Thank you.  You wouldn't happen to know if there is an entire drive assembly would you?  The control and the cable?  The one I recently purchased was the entire assembly.
