    Question:
Brand New 555fx just won't start.
    Details:

I assembled everything and for once, actually read the directions thoroughly because of the potential dangers with this tool. I put in the Husqvarna 50:1 special gas and tried for about 20 minutes to start it with no success. Didn't even think about firing. Did what the lame manual directions said to do for a cold start with no results. Tried all sorts of combinations. Prime, choke, pull. Choke Prime pull. Hold the throttle in while pulling. I almost feel like there must be some on switch somewhere but I can't find one. The manual talks about putting the stop switch in the on position but it's already automatically there. You can put the switch to the off position but if you let go, it goes to back.

Am I missing something here? It's gotta be something that I'm missing. Help!

Probably the best thing to do depending where you got your brushcutter is to return it for exchange or warranty repair. Online sites don't except returns once fuel has been put in the unit (shipping regulations won't allow it). If purchased locally return it for warranty service explaining that you can't get it started. In the case of online a service center should be able help with the repairs.

Sounds like you have done the normal starting procedure. Looking over the IPL it indicates there is a decompression valve. If your unit has this try pulling the part you press-in out. It is located next to spark plug on top of the cylinder. The may be stuck in the decompression position and not popping out as it should when the engine hits. May require removing the cylinder cover to do this; normally they use trox head screw to fasten covers on. This will greatly increase the compression so it be a lot harder to pull through. If it still doesn't start in a few cycles try putting a little fuel mix directly in the cylinder via the spark plug hole. If fires then the carburetor is giving problems. If doesn't start you can check for spark at the plug. Requires grounding the spark plug metal housing to the cylinder pulling the starter cord. Use insulated glove or tool to hold plug against cylinder or you will receive a nasty shock if the ignition is firing. These are non-invasive tests beyond that it is highly recommended that you let the service center or servicing dealer to handle any needed work as to not void your warranty.

You mention the kill switch auto returning. This is normal as I personally prefer this switch version over the manual version as the customer and myself tend to forget about switching it back to run position causing problems.
