    Question:
128cd, anything left to try before replacing the entire carb on my husqvarna 128cd? I cannot figure out what the problem is and can't get it running.

    1. At the beginning of the season it would start when choked but would bog down and shut off when I moved to half choke. I took apart the carburetor to check for ethanol buildup and cleaned it and put it back together.
    2. I also noticed the fuel lines had deteriorated so I replaced those and bought a new fuel filter thinking that was the issue.
    3. Now, I can't even start it because the primer bulb won't pump gas in to the carb. Bulb is not cracked. Is this a bad check valve / gasket?
    4. I was worried I might've put the carb back together wrong so I double checked and everything is in the right place.

First make you didn't accidently reverse the fuel line at the carburetor.

Second check the carburetor internal filter screen. These tend clog when the fuel lines deteriorate.

Third if the metering diaphragm feels stiff then carburetor needs a good ultrasonic and new carburetor repair kit installed. Sometimes here a new carburetor is just as cost effective depending on pricing. For carburetor repair kits use carburetor OEM infi on the carburetor to lookup it.

        Thanks for the quick reply.

Fuel lines are correct, I made sure to double check that when I put the carb back together. Switched the lines and could see air bubbles going out the fuel filter when the primer was pushed so I switched them back.

Internal filter screen was clogged when I initially took apart the carb so I cleaned it then. Although I might check that again because I tried getting it started a few times after I put the carb back together but before I replaced the fuel lines and filter.

I went to my local lowes to look at the new models they have in stock. I noticed the new models have small plastic fittings on the fuel lines. There's 1 fitting connecting two hoses for the fuel line (filter-tube-fitting-tube-carb) and then another fitting attached at the end of the fuel return line. My 128 does not have these. I'm not sure what purpose these fittings would serve but could not having them cause my problems?

They should be just line size adapters and not having them will not problem other than line leaks but this is probably due a change in source of the current machine parts.
