    Question:
I am deciding what saw to purchase either the 450 or 450E
    Details:

    - but while comparing the two I noticed
One difference or seems to be a big difference is the rear and front handle vibration amounts
    450 rear handle is 2.7 and 450E is 5.5
    Front handle  450 is 2.3 and 450 E is 6.1
I don't understand why such big differences when only obvious difference is one has NoTool Chain adjuster- & also chain speed is 14.6ms vs 17.3ms  at max power ?
Please let me know - Need saw ASAP
    Thank you
    Bill

To me they are the same saw parts wise with the exception of the tool-less adjuster. Personally I would stay away from the tool-less adjustment as I have heard of problems keeping the bar adjusted by users.

This is just my opinion though.

Yes I think that might be the answer - I don't need headaches with a chain not staying adjusted-

Now I have been searching for dealers that have the 450 and honor the Fall Husqvarna Days

where you get a Husqvarna Hat/ the 3 cans of premix fuel & additional 2 years warranty- at no additional cost-

But can't find a dealer that has the saw or honors the Manufacturers promotion---

not sure why dealers don't carry the premix if it's part of a promotion - I can understand they can't stock every saw -

But I would think someone would have it as part of the promotion at the 369.99 price

I have called 6 dealers within 25 miles of my location and NG - anyone have any suggestions -promo ends in 4 days?

All I can suggest is to call customer service and they should be able handle what is need; hopefully.

          Their 800 number is 1-800-487-5951.

Thank you for that- but unfortunately they told me I had to keep calling all dealers until I found one that does participate

in the promotion-  so in the end was it worth it- ? 4 hrs 15 phone calls and a lot of explaining as to what the promotion

was about...... On a good note - I did find one place # 9 or 10 on my list of dealers close to me that actually will honor the promotion

ALL PRO HORTICULTURE IN COPAIGE NY 631-789-6680  contact Eric - I shld be picking up chain saw and accessories tomorrow

and getting a total of 4 yrs warranty - Idealy Husqvarna should have a list or participating dealers - this was almost a STHIL purchase !

thank you all for your time and efforts

Sorry the problems I didn't realize that Husqvarna was that disorganized. This something that should be easily access by the customer service group.

I wondering how they ever get anything done if this is an example.

      Bill,

If you download the "PDF" Operators Manual for the 450 and 450e, you will see that the vibration specs are identical. Front handle 2.3 and rear handle 2.7. I think someone goofed on proof reading the Sales literature where you may have gotten your numbers from when doing a comparison.

Also, I believe they are identical as Eugene already stated with the exception of the "tool less feature" for tensioning and removing the clutch cover. I would also recommend staying away from the "tool less", I have worked on a few of them which have gotten jammed up and stripped from dirt getting into the plastic mechanism, which usually I end up replacing the entire clutch cover a pricey repair. I have never had a problem with a bar bolt nut, and using a scrench, just my two cents.

I hope this helps, also Husqvarna should probably fix their Sales Page for Model 450e  to reflect the correct vibration Numbers.

PS. I am Not a Husqvarna Representative or Repair Service Just an experimental chainsaw person.

      Karla : Thank you!

I have come across so many inconsistencies in literature on saw's I was comparing

you wouldn't believe it - and then used MULTIPLE resources to rule them out-

narrowed the list to 2-3 - - yes once I pick up (450) saw I will download pdf's and make my books for the new addition.

thank you for your 2 cents :)
