    I bought a older huaqvarna 136 chainsaw and I am having trouble getting the serial # on it and a year so I can order the correct parts.

      And when you get to the Husqvarna Page, search on the following description: (IPL, 136, 141, 1998-09, Chain Saw), and I believe that will get you close to what you need. You can verify the IPL year by checking some of the component numbers (ie. inside the top cover, or the flywheel number, etc. etc) to see If they match this IPL.
