I was recently given a Husqvarna 128LD. My wife's grandfather could not get it started and told me if I could get it running I could have it. I got it to start and idle when fully choked, however as soon as I take it to half choke it throttles really high and dies. I have already checked the throttle cable to make sure is wasn't in a bind. Any help would be appreciated.
Answer
Most likely the carburetor needs cleaning and carburetor kit installed It should be a Zama C1Q-W40A carburetor which uses a RB-47 repair kit (SRP is $10.47). Due to the low cost of a replacement carburetor PN 545081848 you might consider going that route. Here is a source on Ebay that has carburetor for $25.00 including shipping.

That was my first thought as well...I found one on Amazon with free 2-Day shipping using amazon Prime. I will post with the results of installing the new carburetor. Thank you for your help.
