    Question:
I have a Husqvarna Trimmer model #225R. I need to purchase a piston assembly, part #503859702, and it can't be found anywhere. I called the customer service number but the connection was so bad that I could only make out that it was out of stock. (the direct line phone number did not work either.) I need to know if there's a compatible part for the trimmer, if there will be none available ever. This has been a frustrating search. Please help.

It is no longer available through Husqvarna but here is a source on E-bay that has a couple listed for sale as New Old Stock (NOS).

Great!  I finally got through to your customer service department and ordered the part for $77, plus $11 shipping.  It is not available for another 3 wks.  The part on the Ebay link that you sent is available now for $52, plus free shipping.  Bummer!

This is why I Google the net for available parts. As small independent shop owner I usually need parts quickly and at a fair price. I have learned to check various sources for the best deal for what I am needing. A lot time when a part is listed as no longer available at main suppliers it is usually still out there for sell by someone clearing their inventory. You just got to be carefully especially on places like Ebay and Craigslist if the parts are listed as used.
