Seen that one in some of the 338's ipls but it is in the wrong area and even it fits it appears would be operating backwards. I wish the old one was still there to compare to but has gone AWOL. (Absent WithOut Leave). That particular has normally vent line attached that is routed to the inside of the air box so filter would be pulled in. I thinking it going to be like the duck bill setup like the oil tank setup is using.

Had the same problem finding the fuel tank bushing for Poulan 5020AV then a Husqvarna 570 came into the shop using the same bushing and was listed on its IPL.

It might take someone Husqvarna to answer this but calling customer support (Dixie Sales) won't be of any help. All they do is to look-up the same ipls that we do.

Thanks for trying though. I think order all three setups anyway and see which works. Customer in no big hurry; he won't even be back from Australia unit the end of January.

        Merry Christmas.smiley

I think I figured it out after after comparing IPL and the actual tank side. It appears to be the parts circled in orange; although, the ones circle makes more sense to me.

      Eugene,

Glad you got it figured out.

Could you please listen to the attached Audio File, and tell me what you think? It’s a Husqvarna Model 440, and the carburetor has been rebuilt. I am trying to help someone by E-mail to get his chainsaw running. My last directions to him was to try adjusting the “L” low adjustment another ¼ (one quarter turn) counter clockwise increasing Idle fuel. It seems to bog down we he pulls the trigger but Not exactly sure, If maybe he should let it idle a few seconds before pulling the trigger, he is using the recommended factory settings for the Model 440. It seems to start OK, but won”t run.

      See Attached file

      Thanks,

      Karla

        Karla,

Sounds like the high metering circuit is plugged.

I have seen high speed circuits plugged several times and act like this what saw is doing. These air head (stratified) carburetors can be a pain to adjust on some saws.

First have him make sure the metering lever is set correctly and gasket/diaphragm are in the correct order. Set the H @ 2 turns out from seated and the L out 2-1/2 turns. This should get it at least running but may still have a hesitation but shouldn't be a complete die out as it is doing now.  Then see if he can slowly increase the throttle until reaches full. If so then have him adjust the H setting until best speed plus a little richer. (1/8 - 1/4 turn extra out). This should get it running better.

I wish I could better explanation but most my tuning is done as reset a carburetor and haven't paid that attention to what I am doing as I run on autopilot when tuning the last few years. I let my experience take over during this time.

One thought as it may not be the problem but he should check the cylinder condition. I had one Poulan 4216AV that would idle all day but would not let me open throttle at all without dying and it was a badly scored piston and cylinder from lean burning.

Thanks for the Info, and that is kind of where I was too! It is a challenge trying to do it by E-mail, but he has really done well with my Instructions to date. Only problem, he is always very busy and then I don't hear from him for a while. But Thanks for the confirmation, and I will continue with him in that direction. He has already re-built the carburetor by E-mail and has done a great Job.

Again Thanks for the second opinion, some times two heads are better than one, Lol.
