Where is the airvent located on the 240 x-torq chainsaw?
Details:
My chainsaw dies after 30 seconds of running. The gas cap has a lot of pressure on it after it dies. I open the gas cap, and close it and it runs fine for another 30 seconds. Any ideas?
It is normal for the fuel to pressurize. The air vent your thinking about is to relieve a vacuum condition. I suspect your having a problem with the carburetor flooding due the pressure but these should be able to handle up to about 10 psi of tank pressure; unless, something has failed in it.
The following IPL diagram of the crankcase has the fuel vent circled and line indicating it location which would in the carburetor/intake compartment. RH side near the cylinder.
