    Question:
I have a relatively (3 months) new walk behind, self propelled mower and have 2 general questions. I have used the machine approx. 6 times and have never run over anything that would have caused any blade or crankshaft damage - Yet the mower, after about 10 minutes of use, vibrates excessively. I checked the blade tightness and could notice any loose "ness". what could be causing this vibration? I also checked and tightened all visible nuts and bolts. Second, while I would hope this issue is cured by using a mulching blade, the mower generally takes 2 passes to mulch. Is this normal? The grass is not that long and I have the mower set at the 3rd notch. last, when going up slight inclines (it's a rear wheel drive), i practically have no power at all and have to push the mower - I compared this against my neighbors Craftsman and another Toro and the Husqvarna is certainly "weak". any thought on this one? perhaps the balde is too low? Thanks in advance. The mower is model number 37913 and was bought at Sears.

Thank you for contacting the AnswerARMY.

The vibration has to be coming from a rotation ( crankshaft or blade ) these can only become damaged with impact. Sotp using the mower immediately and take the mower to your local engine dealer to have the crankshaft checked as you must not use a mower that has a bent crankshaft or blade. You will need to look on the engine to determine the engine manufacturer.

For the mulching how much are you cutting off at one time. When mulching and using the correct blade you must not attempt to cut more than one inch of grass as this is all the mower is designed to process when mulching. For healthy grass you should be mowing in the highest notch or next to highest.

When you mention the mower is not pulling this sounds like a cable adjustment if the wheels are not spinning ( see operators manual for adjustment procedure ) if the wheels are spinning this may be affected by the turf, or dampness or incline.

While we manufactured this mower for Sears, it is a Sears specific model number and we do not have information regarding this unit.

For further assistance with the mulch blade or cable adjustment you can find your local Sears by using the store locator using http://www.sears.com
