    Question:
Using my HU775BBC mower for the first time. It starts, then konks out after 2 or3 seconds, then does not start readily, if at all.

I followed all starting instructions carefully, did the trouble-shooting and found nothing that fits the problem under the list given. I called support and was told to go to my nearest authorized dealer which is a 40 mile round trip! I have little time for this and will have to use a gas burning truck to cart it. Can I speak with a qualified Husqvarna mechanic for advice before I make that trip? Thank you.

If you wish for it to be covered by the warranty especially if brand new never used I would follow the support advice and have the service center look at it. The problem does sounds like a main jet or nozzle plugged or there is contaminated fuel.

Yes I understand it a 40 mi round trip; here for me everything is at least a 40 mi trip in my area. Being a small shop with me being the only person I end closing up shop sometime half a day for trips to town for parts and other things.

Thank you, Eugene.  The fuel is recent and works in everything else I have, so it might be a plugged nozzle or carburetor adjustment.  I would have expected neither in a brand new, out of the box mower.

Any time that a foreign item blocks the main jet an engine can run a few seconds and then quit. Even brand new engines are can have this as sometimes milling materials get missed during the initial cleaning process or it can a remanufactured unit; otherwords, one that have been serviced after problem and reboxed where all the fuel wasn't removed.
