Question:
125B. ~15 hrs operating. Symtom: will not run without adding 1/2 choke setting. I assumed that there was a fuel starvation problem. In tank fuel screen looked fine. Removed the screen to verify. Same problem. Removed carb. Needle, seat, spring all good. No obvious issues with gaskets or diaphragm material. Cleaned ALL passages with solvent and air pressure. Same problem. Inspected fuel lines. No issues. Even inspected the spark arrestor. Still looked almost new.
Could the diaphragm material have a hidden defect?
Answer
It could a partial blockage of the "H"speed mixture setting. On carburetors with adjustable mixtures remove limiter caps and lightly seat the H mixture and back out 1-1/2 turn. This will get carburetor to basic setting from there is fine tuned and the limiter put back in mid range. This prevents the mixture from backing out and getting lost. Also check the metering lever set correctly. If set too low it cause lean out and if too high cause over rich condition.
Since Husqvarna don't indicate the make and model of the carburetor used; I don't which is use nor if it is an adjustable model but I think it is. It something the techs determine looking for info on the carburetor itself.
