Question:
I currently have a snapper mower that is a back wheel drive at 190cc and is about 4-5 years old. I own multiple properties and went a head and purchased the 725AWD 190cc all wheel drive model, but I have noticed that it is significantly slower than my snapper. After racing with the old lawn mower, my son, unfortunately, won by two-three lawn mower lengths with the snapper with a distance of 50 feet. Are snappers just faster than 190cc or could it be that my new lawnmower is defective?
Answer
Can very well be the design difference between the two brands. Governed engine speeds may slightly different. IE some at at 3600 , 3400 or even 3200 rpm by design depending blade tip speed limits; otherwords, a 20" will have a higher engine rpm then 22" mower even though the rest of the system is same causing speed differences. Even the pulleys can be different sizes.
And when comes to governor max RPM they can vary from mower to mower even in the model and manufacture.
