    Question:
First let me say, your chainsaws and weedeaters are awesome but I'm a software developer and even I am having a hard time navigating this website trying to search questions and ask one. Why is this forum setup this way? Just make it like a normal forum! Husqvarna's website is also pretty terrible. Support Phone system sucks too. OK I'm done...now the question:

I have a 625 hwt walk behind trimmer. The string or trimmer line comes off every minute or two and I'm fed up with it. The trimmer head clips just don't hold the string on well at all and with the $400+ price tag I'm very disappointed. I was about to remove the trimmer head and take some pliers and crimp the clips down so the string won't fly out but before I did anything I wanted to check to see if there are any alternative trimmer heads I could replace it with. Something more heavy duty? Maybe one with blades or a blade? I need the string to stay on...your help and advice is greatly appreciated.

Are you using .155 line? I have nursery customer that uses 2 of these trimmers quite heavily without string problems. And yes you might need tighten up the gap on the clips; just be carefully as they can break off.

The nursery is however wearing out the mow balls as the bearing is seizing from the moisture of trimming grass when dew covered. I am looking for an all stainless version of the 6203 bearing that should solve that problem.

Also the latest version is wearing out the spindle shaft prematurely due to a design flaw. The bearings are not fitting the shaft tightly which is allowing its inner bearing surface to slip wearing out the shaft journals resulting the trimmer head flopping around. This is something that Murray Ohio tried years ago on their mowers and it didn't then either. I resolved this problem by having the shaft bearing journals diamond knurled on the new replacement shaft.
