Question:
Bought a used Husqvarna FT900 last year. I believe it is only 1 year older - possibly 2013 or 14. The machine actually has 3 different fill tubes. There is a yellow in the front which I know is for oil. But there is also a white one above it and another yellow in the back. I can find nothing about these other 2 fill tubes. All the manuals (didn't get one when I got the machine) on line say that the transmission is sealed - but the white one sure looks like it should be for the transmission. I can see fluid in it. Have no idea what the yellow one in the back is for. Help?
Answer
As far as I know the transmission is sealed unit. Actually filled with grease and crimped sealed.
As for the fill plugs on the engine yes there is three plugs. Both the yellow plugs operator fill plugs. This Briggs engine is used in other application where one of the plugs is not accessible. As the white plug that is above the yellow plug is a factory installed plug that replaces what was a dipstick location that not used the current configuration. If you notice that the pegs are angled to discourage operator removal; requires additional tools to remove.
Now if there is a white plug on the transmission itself which I haven't seen on newer models then it is a fill plug but I doult yours has one as it have quite a few years since they were used.

Thank you for the information - the double yellows makes sense for the different applications of the motor. The white cap makes sense that that may have been a dipstick originally.
