Well, well.  A year later and I've got the same problem.  Was there any solution ever arrived at ?

II have the same problem with a 224L bought in summer of 2015. Unit has always been stored vertically.  Used it about four times (minutes each) last year with no issue.  Changed oil this spring and used it once no issue.  Went to use it a second time and pull cord required tremendous force to turn over engine.  Finally broke free, started, belched blue smoke briefly but ran fine otherwise (20 minutes).  Went to use it once more and clean oil leaked all over my hand and driveway from somewhere out of the engine housing.  The dipstick did not register any oil level.

Took it to a Husqvarna repair dealer.  After admitting they don't even carry the 4 cycle trimmers they told me that I had overfilled it with oil.  They said as soon as they opened the oil plug oil came rushing out.  How could that be when I had checked the oil myself just prior with no oil level registering.  They charged me $30 because they said it was operator error, therefore maintenance and not under warranty.

Seems like this is a design flaw so how does one get Husqvarna to address this?  I do not see any option on their customer service support site other then this public forum and apparently my local dealer is too uninformed or lazy to address this correctly. Does Husqvarna look at and respond to these posts? Is there a way to get support directly from Husqvarna?  I'm rather unhappy to own a leaky flawed piece of equipment.
