    Question:
I just today had delivered a RZ5424 with the Kohler Courage engine. After checking the oil and putting in sufficient gas, I attempted to start following the steps in the Operator Manual. Upon turning the key, the starter solenoid worked with only a clicking sound, but the engine would not turn over. I checked the battery voltage and found it to be 12.6 volts. Any ideas?

Thank you for contacting the AnswerARMY.

It is upsetting that you have experienced this problem.

First make sure the cables are tight on the battery posts, If the solenoid clicks once this is likely a loose connection or a failed solenoid, if the solenoid clicks several times like a buzz this most likely indicates a weak battery under load.

Either way the machine should be taken to the nearest authorized service center for repairs.
