Checking the other posts I'm a little confused on S/N of the older chainsaws. I have two saws 254 orange s/n 9390528 so was this one made in 1999 around October? The other one 51 s/n 4170151 2004 around March?
Seven digit serial number orange tops were made during the 1990's the Husqvarna switched over an eight digit format unit about 2010 when they went to the full 10 digit serials or 11 digits if you count the space.
With this the 254 is a 1999 model and the 51 is a 1994 model. I haven't anything further decoding the rest of the serial numbers.
Btw the White tops were the 70's and the Black tops were the 80's with anything before 1970 being not being easily able to tell what year they were produced.
