Question:
I just bought a 128ld trimmer from lowes. I put the premix Husqvarna 50:1 to be safe for the first tank. On startup. It seems to have bad engine knock at low rpm. Bad enough you can feel it and I actually pulled the spark plug to see if the piston was hitting the plug. Is this common during break in?. I can't bring it back to lowes but want to know if this is normal before I run it for too long. It seemed very hot quick. Too hot to touch the plug after a few seconds
Details:
It does not seem to knock at higher rpm, but when feathering the throttle Is rough and sounds bad. I am also thinking it could be the clutch. I have a rancher chainsaw I have had for 10 years and run a lot and have been very happy with it. Never had any issues or complaints

Answer
No it is not normal for them to have a knock. As far what is causing I have no idea and it would take me actually have in my hands to figure out what is causing it. So many possibles even though it is a simple engine.
