- Warranty Question posted October 18, 2016 by Steven GarnerQuestion:In February of 2016, I purchased a new Poulan Pro (model#PB175A46). In September I began experiencing the engine stumbling like it was running out of gas, it would do this for awhile and then sputter and stop running. I discussed this with my local repair shop and was told to just pull the carburetor and clean it, that this was a fuel problem and not covered by warranty. Basically, he just blew me off.
I changed the filter and discovered that when this problem presents itself, the filter has run dry like it has a vapor lock, there is usually at least a half tank of gas when it quits running.
I don't want to tear the carburetor down and take a chance on voiding my warranty...what should I do. Can you give me an indication of what the real problem is and whether there is a fix that doesn't cost me a fortune.
Remember: I BOUGHT THIS MACHINE IN FEBRUARY, IT IS ONLY 8 MONTHS OLD AND THIS SHOULD BE COVERED THROUGH WARRANTY I SHOULD THINK!

The store that I purchased it from says that warranty is as new warranty. In second month of ownership I have already replaced the deck belt and both blades to my dismay; now I am in the 8th month of ownership and I am beginning to have fuel delivery problems; at first I thought maybe a bad filter so I replaced the fuel filter last week, today it had a re-occurance of the same problem...like it was starving for fuel, after only using for less than an hour. Does anyone know whether these machines are prone to "vapor lock" problems. I never had this problem with any other lawn tractor that I have owned, however, it is the first that I have owned that had a Briggs and Stratton engine, all my mowers in the past had Kohler power. Can someone give me suggestion what to do? I live in Central Florida and it is always rather hot here.

However, recently it has failed to come to a stop when I have taken my foot off the pedal -- two of the last three times I have mowed. It has gotten to the point that it is dangerous to use.
