Service & Maintenance Question posted November 20, 2018 by Jerry Marks
I have aHusqvarna 1140SBEXP two stage snow blower. When the engine is running, the impeller turns, however, the auger does not. I've looked at the parts page and I don't see how the gear system works or parts for it in the housing in the center of the auger shaft. Is there a cause for this? The auger turns but stops when encountering snow. The rotation is much slower than what I am used to seeing on this machine. Thanks for any help.

Husqvarna ST 227P Snow Thrower. To change the engine oil,...
Service & Maintenance Question posted July 10, 2018 by Tom O'Neil
    Husqvarna ST 227P Snow Thrower.

To change the engine oil, the engine manual specifies to remove the oil drain plug and crush washer.

After draining the used engine oil, reinstall the oil drain plug and crush washer before refilling the crankcase with new engine oil.

The engine manual goes on to caution that the crush washer must be reinstalled between the oil drain tube and oil drain plug to prevent oil leakage.

This is my first engine oil change. I cannot see any crush washer. I have drained the used engine oil but have not refilled the crankcase with new engine oil until I have resolved the crush washer issue.

The operator's manual says nothing about any crush washer in describing engine oil change.

In changing the engine oil, is there a crush washer and if so where is it?

I have a ST 230 E snow blower. The auger lever gets stuck in in “ENGAGE” position. The only way to release it is by depressing the little spring loaded switch beside the lever. Any ideas on what is wrong would be appreciated as this is quite dangerous. I have attached a picture and it is the black plastic release with the channel in the middle that needs to be depressed to disengage the auger and release the lever

    Thanks

    hello,
I am looking for an electric or diesel engine working Sweeper with rubber paddle.

Or anything working with diesel or an electric engine that I could mount on rubber paddles attachment.

Please let me know if there is any model available.

    Thanks

I have an 1827sb that has worked great since I bought it. This last month it has started acting unusual. It will start fine and run well for a while then the engine will start revving up and down. It will do this for 5- 10 minutes and then shut off completely. It will restart right away and run rough until it shuts down again. The loger I leave it before restarting, the longer it will run before shutting itself off.
I have changed the oil and the spark plug, and I have also loosed the gas cap when it starts as I thought the cap vent may be clogged, but the issue persists. Any ideas?

    hello,

I just purchased a ST224 snowblower from Lowe's. Got it home checked the oil before starting noticed it was low, added some and overfilled it. Before starting I drained some out and black particles came out with the oil. I'm concerned with them blocking the oil passages and causing damage. Went back to Lowe's and explained what happened the employee went on a bout how they sell thousands of these and never have a problem and it's just excessive pvc particles that stick to everything, nothing to worry about I'm looking for the tech phone number to see how to proceed.

Please no lecture on buying from Lowe's.

Service & Maintenance Question posted January 6, 2018 by Glen Date
I purchased a Husqvarna 12527HVX two years ago. Last winter, I lost forward and reverse drives and had it repaired (cost out of pocket) and then just the other day, when there was 14" of snowfall with 2 1/2 ft. drifts, I lost the forward and reverse drive again. I cannot find my repair manual to check if I have a problem with the belt or linkage. How can I get a copy or photo copy of the portion of the repair/replacement manual to check it myself to alleviate another costly repair. I assume its easy to check and replace and I am capable of doing it myself, but would prefer any guidance before starting on my own.

I have a Husqvarna 1830HV snow blower that won't *stop*. I turn the switch to Off, pull out the key, and turn off the gas supply - but it keeps running! The only way I can get it to stop is to tip it to stop the gas flow - any ideas?

Service & Maintenance Question posted December 29, 2017 by Joe Wadsworth
Bought my ST227P 11/2014 from Lowe's, only used it once in April 2015 due to light snow that winter and used it 4x in 2016. I've literally only used this snowblower 5x since I bought it! Pulled it out 12/2017 (again nearly no snow this winter--global warming I guess--but wanted to get it ready just in case). Started it up and then tried to put it in Drive, but the wheels are stuck in Reverse. I looked under the control panel and it appears a piece of plastic that was part of the plastic gear assembly has broken off. I'm shocked! I paid nearly $1,000 for this snow blower and it's been used 5x and is just barely out of warranty and something like this happens?? Poorly made I guess, should have bought a different brand. I did a ton of research before buying a Husqvarna and was convinced it was top of the line. However, having read through countless posts with similar models made from 2013-2016 it would appear that Husqvarna has a few issues (belt, gear and thrower controls) that need their attention. Nothing that costs this much should break after 5 uses, that is just unacceptable. Husqvarna needs to stand behind their products and when they know many of their customers are experiencing similar issues they need to extend their warranty to cover repairs and necessary upgrades to remedy poor manufacturing practices. VERY DISAPPOINTED!
