unit does start but does not propel(move)!!!

opened up chain drive area and noticed chain on cam shaft(item # 10) had become undone...no longer on primary drive.

have questions on how to reinstall chain including how to tighten it on drive?? did notice brace screws holding gear in place ...any clues on how best to proceed?

are there any other adjustments needed in order to get this thing to propel...heard of the friction dics (# 17) on symatic?

also noticed the chain tightener unit(sprocket on spring wire
assembly seemed loose... not really able to get much tightening action ....probably needs to be replaced ?

don't know if any of this makes any sense...certainly appreciate whatever u can do to help get me back to mowing my over growing lawn!!

My weedeater one cranks but wont start.i replaced the ignition coil because the spark was yellow not blue. Still wont start. When i pull the rope it will start. I can smell fuel gettin to the carb. I cleaned the flywheel,im leaning towards the stator or valves out of adjustment. Stator has diode in it. This is my fourth season with the mower.

Ok here we go I have an elderly neighbor that purchased a Weedeator One said that was all she could afford. The problam she was cutting to close to the curb and didn't realize the front left tire was flat and it rolled over into the street(she is ok just scrapes and bruises) I guess it is out of warrenty if in fact she even registered it? I can get the mower to start manually and it will start if I jump the starter I have a little harness for different mowers, but with everything hooked up fuses checked, sitting on seat turn key nothing can the two fuse relays be bad? ow can you check them? I only work on mowers for friends not wanting to get in business just can't seem to puzzle this one out. I believe Collins in Enterprise Al. is the closest dealor to us.

Service & Maintenance Question posted June 8, 2014 by Stan Skaggs
My weedeater one 26" riding mower seems to have a carburetor issue in that it runs very draggingly for a few minutes until all at once it kicks into normal operation. I can not run the blade until it "kicks in" bedcause the stress on the running engine will kill it because it is running very poorly at this point, and I have found it best to drive around the yard a couple of time to make it "kick in" to running normal and well. This leads me to believe it is a temp problem in the carburetion somehow. Do you have any suggestions on this or heard of this? I can not take it to a service center, it is under warranty, and I am trying to find what kind of carburetor it is even that I can get parts to fix it with?

My Weedeater One WE261, Purchased April 2010, has developed a steering problem this spring. It is pushing left when attempting a right hand turn, actually skidding on hard surface. Gentle turns Ok but can't turn tight. I have checked all wheels & front linkage and cannot see any fault. Any suggestions to fix this problem?? Everything else works great, love the mower.

    Thx
    Denny.

Service & Maintenance Question posted December 16, 2013 by Manuel Platero
    Morning,

Customer email me his issue on WE-261

I replaced the transaxle transmission on my we-261
    today. Everything went almost ok.
Had a very difficult time aligning the bolt holes on the engine
    plate to the transmission chassis.
The mower does well in first gear. anything beyond first gear the
gearshift will not stay in the slots and moves immediately
to highest gear. I usually mow the lawn in second gear, I used a bungee
cord to hold tension on the gear shift to keep it in second gear.
I don’t know how long this will last.
Perhaps you know what could be wrong.
My son who is a mechanical engineer and west point graduate
helped me and I assure you we followed the instructions to
    the letter.
The transmission chassis outside horizontal top dimensions are too short.
The engine plate inside horizontal dimensions (existing equipment) is
at least 3/8 inches wider than the chassis and the bolt threads barely
engage, we had to use c clamps.
It was a very difficult fit.

Also I had to pay $362 total for the damned thing.

Service & Maintenance Question posted August 24, 2013 by Edward Danberg
My Weedeater One has been a constant disappointment. I have had one thing or another break every time I mow my lawn. It has proven incapable of mowing a half acre without something breaking. The latest issue is the drive chain comes off with the slightest bump. It is very easy to see why: The differential asm gear on which the chain rides is plastic. It flexes enough for the chain to come off and very predictably the teeth are wearing down. To replace the differential costs $300 just for the part and I doubt I can or should try to do it myself. It is out of warranty, so I am looking at $500+ to repair what was only an $800 mower new. Before deciding to throw more money at this machine I want to know if the new differential will be plastic too? There is no way I want to spend the money if the new part won't hold up any better than the original.

Service & Maintenance Question posted July 21, 2013 by Bryce Bowlin
My brake spring(?)or bypass spring(?) broke. I have a new one but cannot figure out where it attaches to. I have my owners manual but the drawings are not detailed enough to show the connections. How can I get detailed drawings to show where this spring attaches? It is the spring that has to do with the Freewheel Control lever.
