I have the same problem, The recoil mechanism is the problem. The rope is not the problem. I have noticed that This mechanism has been redesigned - so there is a problem with this mechanism. I looked for information for replacement parts and could not find any.
This unit was purchased at Lows, Model 128LD, 952711953, 108499, 2476101717, SN 10155N702739. These are every number off the unit. What is the replacement part numbers - and what is the price for these.
I am ready to through this unit in the trash and never buy another Husqvarna brand item ever again. !!!
